I almost went on a date with this beautiful girl I began chatting with. This was just before Derek and I began recording the album. Her and I didn’t even end up meeting although I wanted to write a song about how excited and hopeful she made me feel in that short period. Somewhere in the midst of recording I reached out to hero of mine, Sean O’Hagan (The High Llamas) to do the string arrangement. He was very gracious in our discussion however this time it just wasn’t gonna work out for a few reasons. My friend Clay stepped up and really delivered a wonderful arrangement for the song though. It turned out so good! He nailed it. Matt co-wrote the tune with me and was patient with all the many chords I didn’t want to sacrifice haha This was one of the harder songs to tackle in regards to capturing it but I think Matt, Derek and Clay did a superb job. The ending is a huge tip of the hat to The High Llamas for those not in the know ;)
