I knew that my band (The Elwins) was only going to get busier and I had been wanting to start on my own stuff, so about a week after we were done recording Play For Keeps is when work began with Derek. This would be early spring of 2014. Like most people who write songs they keep adding to their own pile and at some point they’ll feel dried up if none of it is acted upon. In and around that time I was a little miserable or just generally very itchy to get going. Between touring with the band and Derek's busy schedule we chipped away at it for a couple of years. During that time an opportunity arose to record with John Southworth, so I did that without much hesitation and put it out first - "¢". This collection of songs however, is really the first batch of tunes I embarked on.
