Frankie was in my room playing the riff which I instantly gravitated to. In the following months we chipped away at it. The bulk of the lyrics (maybe all?) were done at our friends family swamp house in South Carolina.

When I went on school trips growing up it was always exciting how you got to see your peers in a new setting…especially if you had a crush on one or whatever. Having it be somewhat specific about that sort of confusing time was the end goal.
